Silver Hounds is not an adoption group but a support & assistance program. The idea was born after realizing that many private Italian Greyhound rescue groups could use some extra funds to help with their senior fosters. Many times seniors are in need of  extensive veterinary care which the rescue groups provide, and overlooked for adoption soley because they are older.  They are frequently in foster care longer than a young dog and cost more to support.
Our goal is to raise funds through online auctions and our little store for these special dogs and then send it to the rescue group that is doing the really hard job!
A senior dog has SO much love to share if you give them a chance.

Founder  Holly Mastromatto and her husband Tom call Northern Arizona home. Their fur family consists of an 11 year old Yorkie, three Italian Greyhounds (ages 13, 9 and 8), a newly adopted IG/doxie mix, two cranky senior kitties, a sparkly Betta fish and a hamster named Bo. Frequently a foster can be found residing with them too!

Holly has been professionally caring for animals since 1994, starting a petsitting & boarding business in Scottsdale AZ and an online business offering natural pet foods & pet wellness consulting. She has worked with IG Rescue for several years as a foster home and is the AZ coordinator for Wiseguys IG Rescue in CO.
